Package: £8.60 per hour

Role Summary

We currently have a number of opportunities for friendly & compassionate Senior Care Assistants at our large & luxurious nursing home based in Hexham.

The home itself is a purpose built care facility that is fully compliant with CQC & has a fantastic reputation in the local area. It boasts beautiful landscaped gardens and is decorated internally to a very high standard.

As a Senior Care Assistant you will be required to supervise and inspire a team of dedicated Care Assistants under the direction of the Deputy General Manager. This is an incredibly important role as you will also be required to support the clinical team in areas such as medication, assessments, care plans or care reviews.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a naturally kind & caring personality – They will be respectful, a good team player & always act with integrity and behave in a transparent manner.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To promote and deliver a high standard of care which fulfils the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the residents.
  • To supervise junior staff and lead in the assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care.
  • To undertake resident pre assessments.
  • To participate and ensure that accurate records of residents are maintained.
  • To ensure care plans and assessments are evaluated as a minimum monthly
  • To attend resident review meetings as required.
  • To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and document accordingly.
  • To report comprehensively to the Manager regarding resident care, operational management issues and complaints.
  • To follow the falls policy in the event a resident suffers a fall ensuring relevant paperwork and reports are completed.
  • To participate in staff development and the performance review programme (supervision).
  • To attend training and refresher courses as required by the company.
  • To participate in resident and staff meetings as required.
  • To comply with company policy in the storage, administration, recording and ordering of medications.
  • To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy ensuring procedures are carried out correctly.
  • To ensure Infection control measures are actioned.
  • To keep residents safe and well protected at all times.
  • To abide by the company Safeguarding adult and children’s policy.
  • Respond in an emergency situation as requested by the person in Charge or the Manager.
  • Perform other appropriate duties which the person in charge may request.
  • To comply with the company policies and procedures.
